Thank you so much for taking the time to visit my page!
This summer I will be cycling to Paris with Student Adventures to raise money for Breast Cancer Campaign, a disease that affects many people in the UK.
I wanted a challenge to aim for in 2013 and Student Adventures has given it to me, I would be so grateful if you could help and support me in raising money for this fantastic charity.
Breast cancer affects over 50,000 women and 300 men a year and unfortunately 12,000 lose their lives to this disease. The money raised by Breast Cancer Campaign has changed figures dramatically; 30 years ago, only 50% of breast cancer patients were alive 5 years after diagnosis - this figure is now over 80% thanks to the research conducted by cancer charities.
Breast Cancer Campaign helps to increase awareness of the disease and launched a new breast screening programme - they are adamant that the only way to continue these statistics is via research. A small amount of money could go a very long way.
Evidence of this can be seen in the opening of the Breast Cancer Campaign Tissue Bank in 2011 which created a vital resource of breast cancer tissue for researchers across the UK - a first for this country.
No doubt many people have experienced first hand family members suffering from cancer, however, everyone can be part of the cure.
If you could support me in fundraising this fantastic charity I would be so grateful! Thank you! :)
