Story

Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.

On 24th April 2010 Heath, Colin, Paul, Chris, David, Anthony, Matthew, David, Dean and Peter will be taking part in the annual 3 Peaks Race in aid of The Cri du Chat Syndrome Support Group, a charity very close to Heath's and his families heart. Heath's 2 year old son Nathaniel has Cri du Chat Syndrome and they receive a great deal of support from them. Cri du Chat is a very rare chromosome disorder affecting 1:50,000 live births. The race covers a distance of 24 miles and takes in the Yorkshire peaks of Whernside, Ingleborough and Pen-y-ghent - a total climb of 5000ft!

Many thanks for any support you can give us in helping this very worthwhile charity!!!!!!!!!

And if you Gift Aid your donation, the charity can claim back and extra 25% of your donation! So whatever amount you donate the Cri cu Chat Syndrome Support Group will get an extra 25% on top! Its great!

For more information about the syndrome please visit http://www.criduchat.org.uk/

Training update:

13/2/10 - The team went up to the 3 Peaks to have a recce around and to practice the route for the race, when they got to the top of one of the peaks there was 8 inches of snow!

20/2/10 - Went out for 8am this morning and completed the Half Tour of Pendle - still 8 inches snow on top of Pendle Hill!! We also went up and down Pendle 3 times in different directions!

27/2/10 - We were out again at 8am up Pendle Hill again! A very good run! Still 2 feet of snow up there in places!

5/3/10 - We appeared in the Nelson Leader today! A FAB article and a great picture of Heath and Nathaniel!

2/4/10 - Today we have had a reccy run of the Three Peaks themselves in preparation for the day! My time was 5 hours and under race conditions my time will be quicker!

8/4/10 - Just over 2 weeks to go now and we're all excited! The sponsorship is going really well and everyone has been fantastic! Will keep you updated as the big date nears!

A BIG THANK YOU TO EVERYONE WHO HAS SUPPORTED US AND MADE A DONATION! THE RACE WAS FAB! IT WAS VERY HOT AND SO DEMANDING BUT WE MADE IT!

HEATHS TIME WAS 4 HOURS AND 58 MINS - HE CAME 469TH OUT OF 702, HE DID FANTASTIC! WELL DONE TO ALL THAT TOOK PART, THE HEAT MADE THE DAY HARDER AND MORE GRUELING.
