Story
I have been awarded the opportunity to run the 2016 London Marathon for the British Heart Foundation. The #heartrunners team picked me out of a pool of 1343 applicants to run on their behalf. I have committed to raise 3000 pounds/4200€. For every €uro you donate, you are pushing me 10 metres along the 42,194.99 metres of the Marathon.

Quick stats:
Cardiovascular Disease (umbrella term for all heart and circulation related diseases) causes upwards of 25% of ALL deaths in UK..... (1 death every three minutes)
Coronary Heart Disease is the leading cause of death... worldwide.
Like me, 1 in 180 babies are born with a heart defect. What have we done to deserve that? :(
Each year, estimated 22,000 UK deaths from cardiovascular disease can be contributed to smoking...
This and a lot more interesting stats on the BHF website (www.bhf.org.uk/research/heart-statistics, As of 26 August 2015)
