Story
On 19th September 2021, a team of Partners from HCR will be taking part in the annual Chariots of Fire event in Cambridge in aid of East Anglian Air Ambulance (EAAA), and we are appealing for your support!
Training is patchy and we are all older than we care to admit but the spirit is willing and we are delighted not only to be supporting but actually running this historic event in what is the first year of the merger between Hewitsons and HCR. If you can please make a donation to help us reach our fund raising target for the EAAA who provide an essential healthcare service to the rural communities in which we live and work.
Chariots of Fire is one of Cambridge’s largest annual charity events where teams of six each run a 1.7 miles course in relay format. This year, participants will be running with a defibrillator rather than a standard baton in order to raise awareness for CPR and defibrillator awareness.
The EAAA is a 365-day-a-year helicopter emergency medical service covering Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk & Suffolk. They exist to save lives by delivering highly skilled doctors and critical care paramedics by air to seriously ill or injured people in the region. The EAAA does not receive regular direct government funding and the £13 million they need to raise this year comes directly from charitable donations. For further information about the fantastic work the EAAA does, please visit their website at www.eaaa.org.uk.
Any donation, however small, would be greatly appreciated in aid of this important cause, so please share our page and donate as much as you can and in return we promise maximum effort from our Partners and who knows maybe a sub 4 minute mile………..
