Story
Dear all,
Many thanks for visiting our page.
Emily and I are heading to India in September and aim to complete a 4-day Himalayan trek in aid of the CAREducation Trust and hundreds of children from the local area who are without access to adequate living and learning conditions.
Of the 70 million children across the globe without access to schooling, over half can be found in Africa and India alone. The Trust has a good track record in changing the lives of thousands of young people across the globe with ongoing projects in countries such as Ghana, Kenya and India.
Our cause is the reconstruction of the Himalayan Buddhist Cultural School (HBCS), an establishment in need of serious refurbishment. Currently, the boarding facilities are nigh-on uninhabitable, with cramped dormitories and poor bathroom facilities.
Thankfully, and with the blessing of the Dalai Lama himself, the new buildings are well on their way to completion. With the inauguration due early next year, we are looking to raise funds for the final step. If we are successful, HBCS will provide a good quality of life for 400 children aged 4 to 16.
Should you kindly choose to donate, your money will be put towards the acquisition of classroom furniture and other educational essentials, without which the school cannot function.
We are very excited at the prospect of helping children in the direction of a brighter future and hope our cause has captured your imagination.
Many thanks for your generosity,
Emily and James
