Story
Having recently started working in the fundraising department and having worked for The Christie for many years I know how hard it is to raise every pound. I will be taking on The Christie challenge with my charity colleagues, in the hope to raise some vital funds for The Christie.
The average cancer patient is travelling 60 miles a day for their treatment and this can be for 5 days a week for 4-6 weeks at a time.
Starting from Monday 15th March 2021 for 5 weeks, I will be completing 100 burpees, 5 days a week for The Christie Challenge. Most patients at The Christie require radiotherapy for 5 weeks or longer, Monday to Friday so I am following this schedule for my challenge.
Why choose burpees?! Because I find them really hard work and really tiring and not really that enjoyable! I am hoping it will get easier as time goes on. Any support would mean the world to the charity team and and all the patients at The Christie hospital.
The Christie charity provides enhanced services over and above what the NHS funds for more than 60,000 cancer patients treated at The Christie every year. Your support can help us to fund life-changing and potentially life-saving projects that will benefit cancer patients both now and in the future.
