Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
From the age of 8, when my Grandma died of a massive heart attack at the age of 65, I too believed I would only live to be 65 and also die of a heart attack. As the years went on, I believed this to be fact and have lived with this hanging over me.
Having my children, Perry and Brooke quite late on in life, I have a realisation that due to this belief I have, they will only have me for the next 20 something years which would make them really young to lose their Mum.
I always say I would do anything for my children and to not make an effort to live as long as possible seems to contradict this. So....this is my chance to make a difference and get fit and give my heart every chance to last as long as possible.
So I have given up booze, started walking and other exercise and signed up to this challenge to get my heart and body fitter and stronger and more prepared for many more years ahead. I would love my children to finish school, become something of themselves, have children of their own (if that's what they want to do) and more than anything I want to be a part of that for as long as I can, as my Mum has been for me.
Please help me do this walk by raising the funds I need to qualify and get fit in the meantime and in the grand scheme helping others, my children, my husband and those involved with the British Heart Foundation.
If Uncle Jim can walk up Snowdon following a quintuple heart bypass, I can walk a measely 100km!
