Story
Every year, nearly 600 people in the Northallerton area are told they have cancer and sadly the current facilities available at the Friarage Hospital are not longer fit for purpose and many people are having to travel further afield for their treatment.
Macmillan Cancer Support is working with South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust to build an essential new cancer centre at the hospital. Yorkshire philanthropist Sir Robert Ogden has jointly funded the project, providing £3.25 million, and provided a wealth of design expertise, to help turn a vision into a reality.
The Sir Robert Ogden Macmilan Centre now need a further £500,000 to complete funding of the project, The centre will off state-of-the-art cancer care and support facilities, all under one roof.
Almost half of us will get cancer, and we need your help to make sure that people get the support they need to face one of the toughest fights of their lives.
Help us reach our fundraising target this year and make a real difference to this community.
