Story

Thank you for taking the time to visit our JustGiving page.

On Saturday 10 September we are taking on the UK Running Events 5KM inflatable obstacle course to raise money for Asbestos Support Central England.

Asbestos is the biggest single work-related cause of death in the UK. It kills thousands of people every year and wrecks the lives of many more. Mesothelioma is a cancer that develops primarily in the lining of the lung but can also occur in the abdomen. It is caused by exposure to asbestos, which occurs many years before diagnosis. In the UK around 2,500 a people a year are diagnosed with mesothelioma.

Asbestos Support Central England is a Registered Charity who help and support anyone living in the region who is affected by asbestos related diseases and they campaign for the strictest possible enforcement of regulations and legislation to protect current workers and communities. In the Workplace Illness team we have witnessed first hand the devastating effect asbestos related illnesses, particularly mesothelioma, have on the lives of our Clients and their families and we are keen to raise as much money as possible to support Asbestos Support Central England in their invaluable work.

Any donation however small, is greatly appreciated.
