Story
Severn Hospice is a charity very close to my heart who provide a multitude of services which are greatly underfunded. My journey of fundraising began when our awesome friend and neighbour Mel Humphreys roped me into a 10k run in our underwear through London with an amazing group of women to raise funds for the hospice. The post run buzz was second to none so I secretly signed up for the London Marathon 2020 - then Covid hit and the race was postponed so my place was re-allocated to 2022 but I still ran virtually around Telford with the most awesome group of supporters!! Then 2021 arrived and Clair (my sister) thought we should run virtually again - the emotions of each mile are unforgettable!!
The snacks at mile 13!!
Asking Clair why a horse was mooing at mile 18 when the delirium set in!!
The honking of horns down the repeated stretches of the mile of doom!!
Taking a selfie outside the Hospice at Apley!!
And finally the most poignant memory is at mile 23 when the wobbles kicked in and the self doubt and we remembered the reason we signed up for this challenge - because pushing our limits is nothing in comparison to what patients and their families go through on a daily basis. We want to raise funds to enable the Hospice to continue the amazing work they do and continue to support their patients and families. Any donation big or small will be massively appreciated and it really, really does keep us putting one foot in front of another on the day. We will be crossing that line together in October come rain or shine!!
