Here we are again :) 

Amanda and I are near ready to do our walk from Dad's grave in Sandwick to Victoria Pier in Lerwick (approximately 15 miles). We did this last year for the first time and will continue to do it each year on the last Saturday of May. 

A little bit of back ground on why we chose the BHF. 

On 4th July 2020 my dad Peter King suddenly passed away aged 63 of a mass and sudden heart attack outside Sound Service Station in Lerwick. He had had his heart checked just a couple of weeks before and it was fine. In a matter of minutes he went from his usually happy self to being found slumped over his van wheel, unfortunately he couldn't be saved. My heart broke. 

On 28th January 2021 my Nan passed away of a heart attack (my mums mum not my dad's) she was already in hospital when it happened. Again my heart broke. 

On 20th September 2021 my Uncle passed away in hospital with covid but he had Vascular Dementia also (my mums brother). My heart broke for a 3rd time. 

3 massive losses in the space of 14 months, 3 of my loving family gone. If fundraising can help even 1 person not have to go through what we have then it'll be worth it. 

My mum, myself and my Aunty also have Marfan Syndrome which can affect the heart. My Aunty has had heart surgery. 

The reason I chose the last Saturday in May is because my dad would do 24 hour relays for the CRUK Relay for Life, either walking from sumburgh to Lerwick then around the track for 12 hours or around town for 12 hours then around the track for 12 hours. 

Excuse the long winded story but there is a lot to say.
