Story
Just after a year old, my gorgeous girl Isabelle was unable to communicate in any way. She didn't give eye contact and just wanted to play by herself away from everyone else. The few words she had learned disappeared overnight like turning a light switch off, she was lost in her own world. Then followed a year of endless medical appointments, tests and countless nights worrying of symptoms you really didn't want to read about on google. Isabelle was diagnosed with Autism (ASD) and global developmental delay aged 2. Her future was a huge question mark and we didn't know where to turn.
Thankfully we came across the charity Autism Early Support, The Circle Centre (formally Puzzle Centre). The work they do for young children with Autism is AMAZING! Isabelle attended their pre-school and has come a long way since her 2nd birthday!! They enabled her to start school communicating using pictures & Makaton sign language. She was starting to vocalise letters & words, her eye contact is brilliant and she is very sociable, choosing to play with others instead of being by herself. My girl is amazing and so is Autism Early Support. Isabelle is now 12 and at secondary school, still achieving and making great progress!! However none of this would be possible without Autism Early Support and as a family we are forever grateful for the hard work & dedication of the caring team that have made Isabelle the Awesome girl she is today.
I wish all families with a child like Isabelle could have access to these services. Autism Early Support relies on donations to fund their places and the waiting list is huge. Please, please, please help another child by donating to this fantastic cause. Thank you x
