Story
Thanks for visiting my page.
Those of you that know me well will be aware that I do a little bit of running here and there, and if I can raise some sponsorship along the way, then so much the better.
Due to the current pandemic so may organised races have been cancelled or postponed and then rolled forward. Hence I now find myself in the unique position of running three major races in the space of five short weeks. The Great North Run (13.1 miles) on 12th September, the London Marathon (26.2 miles) on 3rd October and the Great South Run (10 miles) on 17th October. So, definitely "three for the price of one!". 49.3 miles in total, and that's how I came up with my fundraising target.
I'm raising money for the British Heart Foundation and I'd be so grateful for your support. When my husband had a mystery illness back in 2014 it was the brilliant care and support of a fantastic interventional cardiologist and his team that made all the difference. Continuing research in these areas is key to success. The BHF fundraising motto is "Break sweat, beat heartbreak". I'll break sweat, the rest is up to you and your kindness to help me hit my target.
The BHF has helped halve the number of people dying from heart and circulatory disease in the UK, but sadly every day hundreds of people lose their lives. It's only thanks to support from people like us that the BHF can create new treatments and discover new cures. £24 could pay for two hours of research by an early career scientist, but every pound helps. Please give what you can. Thank you!
