As most of you know, James and Rick both turn 40 in 2013 and both seem to having a slight "Midlife Crisis"! They decided in the pub during their weekly Thursday Club to walk the Yorkshire 3 Peaks to prove there was life in the old dogs yet. Clare & I thought we'd better tag along to check they were ok! We did a practice run with the tough Todmorden Boundary Walk and Rick really struggled with his old knees, but he's determined to still give the 3 Peaks a go!

 

Unfortunately during this same year, we found out my Dad has advanced bladder cancer so we thought we'd do the walk to raise money for Macmillan, whose help and advise has been invaluable these last few months. Providing the date isn't changed, my Dad will hopefully be recovering in hospital after major surgery to remove his bladder whilst we are walking. I know whatever pain we may feel doing the walk will be nothing compared to what he will be going through, and I'm sure that will keep us going through the tough 24 miles.

We'd all really appreciate anything you feel able to donate to such a worthy cause. I never thought it'd be so close to my heart just 4 months ago-you just never know what's around the corner. Hopefully a cure xxx
