Kidney Research UK is a charity that is close to my heart.

At the age of 7 I was diagnosed with a duplex kidney on my left side. Unfortunately the duplex kidney did not function properly which resulted in a major operation in 2001 to have it removed. However, this operation was not a success and I had to have a second major operation in Christmas 2002. 

My condition went unrecognised for 7 years and I was misdiagnosed several times. The early years of my childhood were spent travelling to various hospitals for tests and I was constantly suffereing from infections and being very ill. 

I am raising money to fund kidney research because I feel there is more awareness needed of conditions like mine and they is still so many unexplored avenues that needed to be researched. Most importantly, I don't want other children to go undiagnosed as I did.
