Story
We wanted to play our part in raising money for this very deserving charity. Here are a couple of reasons why...
Hayley H: Kirkwood Hospice provide such a caring, passionate service and I wanted to play my part in giving something back. With my background in the NHS, I have dealt with the team many times and they are nothing short of amazing. It is a shame the midnight walk can no longer go ahead but that wasn’t going to stop us!
Poppy: When mummy said I could go for a walk at midnight I was really excited as normally I aren’t allowed to stay up past 9 as I am only 9 years old. Now it isn’t at midnight but I still want to do it as I like to help poorly people at the Hospice.
Kayleigh: One of my most treasured memories is sitting with my Great Grandma at the end of her bed in Kirkwood doing a jigsaw age 4 which is my last memory of her. I am so grateful to them for looking after her and making her comfortable at the end of her life.
Hayley K: I wanted to take part in memory of some friends who have spent their last days at the hospice. It is a great local charity to support.
A little about Kirkwood: At Kirkwood, we only have one chance to get it right as someone in our community reaches the end of their life. We cannot push that moment back, however much we might want to, and whatever is happening in the world.Right now, our nurses are stepping forward, ready to do whatever it takes to ensure those on our In-Patient Unit, and those that are being cared for in their own homes, continue to receive the highest quality, compassionate care and support.
