Our Story:
Our Grandfather (Leslie MacKinlay) a.k.a our "Hero" was sadly taken from us in October 2008 having been diagnosed with Myeloma Leukaemia in January 2008.
Our Grandfather was always a positive, fun loving character who was loved not only by his family but by his many friends and colleagues. From the outset of his diagnosis his positiveness shone through and we can honestly say he never once felt sorry for himself despite having on going treatments including self-administering chemotherapy. The short period of time we had with him after his diagnosis was filled with fun and energy including his continued passion for playing the bagpipes. However this time was far too short and is one of the reasons we wish to raise funds for research so that other families can spend more time creating memories and special moments with their loved ones. Eventually the goal is to halt the process of blood cancers through research but this cannot be achieved without your generous support and for that we will always be grateful.
