Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
I had challenged myself to run the Royal Parks half marathon on October 10th 2021, to raise both awareness and money for the Motor Neurone Disease Association in support of my amazing Dad Phil Carter who has recently been diagnosed with this terrible disease. Unfortunately I got a stress fracture on my Tibia whilst training for this event and am having to postpone until April 2022.
My Dad is amazing he is kind, caring, loving, he is a fantastic Dad and Father-in-law to myself and Gareth and a wonderful Grandad to our girls Lyla and Miley who both think the world of him.
When my Dad was a diagnosed with this awful disease it was a massive shock to us all. Since then he has been amazing and has taken an extremely positive approach of the disease. My Dad has volunteered and taken part in tests and trials to continue the research into Motor Neurone Disease to try to help find a cure. We are staying strong and positive and making the most of every day!
Thank you in advance for supporting my Dad, myself and MNDA.
Motor neurone disease (MND) is an uncommon condition affecting the brain and nerves.
Motor neurone disease happens when cells in the brain and nerves, called motor neurones, gradually stop working. It's not known why this happens.
There is no cure for Motor neurone disease but treatment can help reduce the impact It has on your life.
