Story

A diagnosis of cancer is one of the greatest challenges anyone can face. Being diagnosed with a rare or uncommon cancer can have additional consequences, not least in terms of awareness, early diagnosis and access to expertise. Feelings of isolation, fear, uncertainty and anxiety are not uncommon.Neuroendocrine Cancer UK exists to address the unmet needs voiced by the Neuroendocrine Cancer community, to support patients and their loved ones with the physical and psychological burden of Neuroendocrine cancers.

Nic felt that there were so many aspects of her cancer diagnosis that made it so much harder. 1. The fact that it was so rare 2. The fact that being given the diagnosis was extremely traumatic because of the lack of knowledge about it 3. The treatment options available 4. The pain relief (high grade NEC's are incredibly painful) and so all of these things can improve but as with everything money is needed!

Nic was an ambassador of the Neuroendocrine Cancer Charity.  She was brave, courageous, relentless in her efforts to keep going and to make a difference to those who may find themselves in the same difficult situation as Nic.

Walking 10,000 steps a day to acknowledge all the selfless giving and support Nic gave doesn't really seem enough - But it's a start!

Any donations or even better participation would be greatly appreciated! Thank you so much in advance!
