Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page!
My name is Hayley and I am a married mum of two amazing children.
From the very young age of 4 I showed signs of anxiety. I worried a lot about everything, I was always worried something would happen to my dad and I remember from such a young age getting very upset.
These feelings ruined parts of my childhood, I hated going anywhere new, the thought of sleepovers or eating in public terrified me.
I found it very difficult as a child to explain how I was feeling to anyone.
Fast forward a few years, I joined the police, I had my two gorgeous children and when my youngest was 18 months I had my first full blown panic attack. I honestly thought I was going to die. It was only after this I realised it was anxiety and panic that I had been suffering all this time. Even things like the car wash became too much. The anxiety got so bad that I decided I needed time away from work and to try and get myself to a more calmer place.
It was at this time that I was directed towards learning mindfulness as a way of helping me cope with the anxiety and panic. The practice really did help me.
Earlier this year I have resigned from the police and now teach mindfulness and meditation to children that suffer like I did. Helping children in this way is the most rewarding thing I have ever done!
So ... I have decided to challenge myself and raise a bit of money and some awareness to what anxiety is, and to let people know it’s ok to speak out and get help 💕 I am going to freefall abseil down the ArcellorMittal Orbit in the Olympic Village in Stratford in the Summer. I will post the go pro footage once I have done it!! This is a massive deal for me and something I would never have dreamt of doing!
Thank you for reading and any donation will be amazing!
