Fundraising for Notts County Foundation
In September I will be running the Robin Hood half marathon. This is something I’ve always wanted to do as for years the route went right by my house and we'd always go outside on those days to cheer the runners on.
During my 30's, I’ve had a bit of a battle on with my weight and this peaked at 97kg in Jan 2020 - it was at this time i became aware of a brilliant programme called "FitFans" being run by the Notts County Foundation. I enlisted on the course and it has changed my life to the point where I’m no longer overweight and am able to keep and maintain a healthy lifestyle - in no small part was the Foundation key in achieving this so i wanted to give something back so others can benefit the same way i have.
The Notts County Foundation Mission is to provide high quality, accessible, life changing opportunities through sport and physical activity, improving people’s health, education, confidence and skills, increasing positive behaviours and bringing enjoyment to the people they work with. They passionately believe that anyone can have their life transformed by the power of sport and actively embrace the diversity of sport in our projects.
From picking up running as a way to get fit - I’ve been fortunate enough to see my 5k times plummet from 37 minutes to a personal best of 19:36 - my aim for the half marathon is to run this in a time under 1 hour and 40 minutes - something I’ve not achieved yet - but will endeavour to do so on the day!
Please donate if you can, any amount no matter how small will make a difference to many people in and around the Nottingham areas.
Thanks for taking the time to read this and visiting my page, Hayden.
