Story

Last year our Sissy girl at only 5 weeks old was rushed to hospital with meningitis caused by Strep B infection.

Group B Streptococcus is the UK's most common cause of life-threatening infection in newborn babies and of meningitis in babies under age 3 months. On average in the UK, at least-two babies a day develop a group B Strep infection -one baby a week dies from their GBS infection, and-one baby a week survives with long-term disabilities – physical, mental or both. Yet most group B Strep infections are preventable. Group B Strep Support informs families & health professionals about group B Strep to save tiny lives.

After what felt like a lifetime in hospital Sissy came home and was back where she belongs. She is the sweetest, happiest most loving little baby and we count our lucky stars to have her back in our arms. In light of this, we have committed to running the London Landmarks Half Marathon on the 7th April, to support and raise awareness for Group Strep B. Any donation big or small will be appreciated and go towards preventing little ones from this life threatening infection.
