Fundraising for TackleAfrica
Okay, here we go. Another year, another Brighton Football Marathon. Another lost toe nail. Another 2457889 calories burned. Another 12 hours of football played.
Once again me and some idiots I know have decided to put ourselves through the torture of playing 12 hours of football. Why would we do this I hear you say? Well, in order to raise money for a fabulous charity who do great work.
The last year has hit many of us really hard and this includes the charity sector. Anything you can donate is appreciated more than ever. So please pop your hand in your pocket, look behind the sofa cushions, empty the swear jar and donate anything as big or as little as you can.
TackleAfrica uses the power and popularity of football to deliver HIV and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (SRHR) information and services to young people on football pitches across the continent.
We do this by training African football coaches, games teachers and community leaders to use fun, interactive football sessions with inbuilt health messaging with their players. Alongside receiving sexual health information during football sessions, players also have the chance to access sexual health services at sessions and football tournaments, such as HIV testing, condoms and other contraception, and referrals to further clinical services.
Charities pay a small fee for our service. Learn more about fees
