Story

In February 2019 I will be completing a trek through the Sahara Desert raising money in aid of The Brain Tumour Charity.

As some of you may or may not know, I was diagnosed with a Benign Brain Tumour on the 11th December 2015.

I had my first operation on the 12th December 2015 to stop the hydrocephalus.

In January 2016, I underwent a 16 hour operation to remove the tumour however, only 80% of the tumour could be removed due to the other 20% being attached to my brain stem.

Due to fluid still building in my skull I had my third and final operation to insert a VP shunt.

Luckily for me I am able to lead a healthy life with regular check ups and scans every 6 months and appointments with my consultant, but this is not the case with everybody.

Taking part in this trek and raising money for the Brain Tumour Charity is the best way for me to help those who are not as lucky as me.
