Story
I am running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of my Mum Cheryl, who lost her life to Cystic Fibrosis, aged 45, in 2009.
Cystic Fibrosis is a cruel genetic condition that slowly destroys the lungs and digestive system. It affects more than 10,800 people in the UK, significantly impacting day to day quality of life and dramatically shortening the life expectancy for those who suffer from the disease. In the UK in 2017, the 132 people with CF who died had a median age of just 31.
I've seen first hand the amazing work the Cystic Fibrosis Trust do - they fund cutting-edge research, push to drive up standards of care and provide much needed support people with the condition and their families. They also work relentlessly to fight for Cystic Fibrosis patients to have access to life-saving drugs on the NHS.
Any donation, however small, would be hugely appreciated! Harry x
