As a child I was fortunate to learn to sail dinghies which gave me my first taste of freedom - being in (sole) control of a moving thing at the age of 10 was so exhilarating.  

Fast forward 40 years and having lost the majority of use in my right arm and hand, one of my aims was to learn to adapt and sail again.  Calvert Kielder can make this happen for those with both physical & hidden disabilities - trust me, the latter has been harder to overcome than the former! They are a wonderful charity, and this year I have started sailing again...and the freedom is incredible.

In 2020, as a 50th birthday present to myself, I entered London Marathon....now it's happening...
