Next Saturday (10 July), I'm going to try and run 100 miles on some beautiful Dorset footpaths. It is quite a simple plan - to set off at 7am with my GPS, water and snacks and to not stop until I have run 100 miles, which will hopefully be sometime before 7am on Sunday.
It is going to be a genuine team effort with a number of people supporting me. Arthur (ex.school captain of cross country), William (a keen runner recovering from knee surgery) and Xander (first time marathon runner) have all agreed to run various stages with me. My darling wife, Alice, will be keeping us fed and watered throughout the day and night, ably backed up by my father.
To try and monetise the generosity of this support team and also the crazy number of hours I have spent training over the last year, I'm hoping that you will sponsor me.
My running obsession has allowed me to enjoy the wonderful scenery and biodiversity offered by the British countryside. There are so many different, and sometimes extreme, views on how to conserve our countryside for everyone. The Game & Wildlife Conservation Trust carries out scientific research and provides advice on land and wildlife management based on data painstakingly gathered over many years in the field. I’m hoping people will donate so that the GWCT can continue their valuable research and keep providing advice on how to boost bio-diversity, so that more genuine conservation gets done.
