I am pleased to announce that I will be running the 2023 London marathon for the purpose of raising money for the brilliant Cobalt Health charity. Cobalt is responsible for the machinery used in the early diagnosis of breast cancer and dementia. This resonates with me because my nan raised money for one of the original machines, by knitting blankets in her sheltered accommodation. She was later diagnosed with breast cancer at cobalt. Sadly she passed away but if I can raise some money for this fantastic charity and help other people in the position my nan was that would make her very happy. Cancer and dementia affect so many families and the importance of early diagnosis is crucial as Almost all women diagnosed with breast cancer at the earliest stage survive their disease for at least 5 years.
