Fundraising for Willen Hospice
Story
As some of you will know, on Sunday 2nd October 2022, I will be running the London Marathon and hopefully raising lots of money for Willen Hospice!
By way of background, before Milton Keynes became the bustling city that it is today, Willen Hospice and the land surrounding it was home to the Rees family farm. Nowadays, Willen Hospice provides compassionate, personal end of life care to the 40 or so patients and their families - all given free of charge.
I guess rather fittingly, in 2010, when my own Mum needed it most, Willen Hospice took her in and provided her (and the rest of us!) with such wonderful care and support for the final few days. Dad and I certainly owe them a great debt of gratitude but for them to continue with this level of support for other families, it costs £9 PER MINUTE to keep afloat and so please, dig deep if you can - I certainly will be over the course of my training in the next 16 weeks!
