Story

This year I will be running the 2022 London Landmarks Half Marathon in Memory of Colin.

On the 4th of June 2020 we lost Colin due to Mental Health which really affected me. Not only was he my brother in-law, best dad to 4 of my crazy Nieces & Nephews but he was also my best mate. He came into our Family and everything clicked, we enjoyed so many different stages of life together, holidays, kids and football but my fondest memory will always be times we spent in America and I will cherish these memories for a lifetime!

Since the passing of Colin I have faced dark times, struggles and lows but without the people around me, my friends & family, the journey to today would have been a lot harder. I don't think we will ever truly understand how to control what we are thinking or feeling but staying strong and positive definitely outweighs the negative thoughts.

Over the last year the male suicide rate was 15.3 per 100,000* and Thanks to Jess this half marathon has allowed to me put my mind and focus into a new goal. I will be running this on the 3rd April 2022 for a great organisation ‘in Mind’, I'm hoping we have smashed our target set and raise additional awareness not only for Mind but for our closest friends and Family.

Rip Col, Best Mate
