Harry Goodrich London Marathon 2021 for St John Ambulance

Fundraising for St John Ambulance
Dear All,
It's been a goal of mine for a while to try and push myself through an event like a marathon, so I thought where better to start than with the epic event that is the London Marathon.
Having attempted to run in April 2020, I was forced to down tools on my training with only weeks to go before the race. I will now be aiming for the postponed date of October 2021.
I am lucky enough to be running in aid of a fantastic charity in the St John's Ambulance, who perform amazing work in the community, ranging from ambulance services, first aid supplies and events, and workplace training, to save lives and keep people safe. It is hard to believe that all of this charitable work is entirely funded by donations! Last year alone they transported over 100,000 people needing emergency and non-emergency care. Hopefully my efforts over the long miles ahead can help to keep such incredible work going strong.
St John's Ambulance also have a personal connection for me. In the very early hours of 16th July 1994, 8 weeks before I was due to be born, while at a concert in Suffolk mum realised that I was not going to wait any longer. Thankfully the St John's Ambulance were on hand and with the help of the amazingly calm and assured paramedic Steve, I was born a few hours later in Bury St Edmunds!
Any donation would be massively appreciated by myself and by everyone at SJA, and will give me all the motivation I need to lace up my trainers and hit the pavements for the gruelling few months ahead. 2020 has been a terrible year for the charity sector due to missed and cancelled events, so I hope the money raised in 2021 can go someway to overcoming that shortfall.
Many many thanks,
Harry
p.s. Let's hope I don't need their help on 3rd October!
