Nine year old Magic was brought into the care of Cats Protection’s Harrow Homing Centre in March just after we opened. Magic had a deep ulcer on his right eye and despite different treatments this didn’t get better and it was getting deeper and more painful. 

Poor Magic became very shut down and we would often find him sitting in the corner of his pen looking depressed and withdrawn. After consultation with our vets, it was decided that the best treatment for Magic was to remove the infected eye and give him time to heal and recuperate. 

Over the recent weeks, our centre has been closed to the public due to the developing situation with Covid-19, so that we can keep our people safe and continue to care for cats. Our team have worked very hard to ensure that cats like Magic who need emergency operations have still been able to receive the best care possible.

We’re delighted to say that following his operation Magic has healed really quickly and is becoming a happy cat and super affectionate! We can’t wait to find him a good furr-ever home in the future and are extremely grateful to our amazing vets and cat care team for all their support and excellent professional care at this very difficult time for everyone.

As you can imagine, an operation like this can cost a significant amount for our charity. In this instance, it has cost nearly £1000 to treat and care for Magic. 

Cats Protection receives no government funding, therefore we rely solely on the donations of kind supporters to ensure cats like Magic get the best chance in life. We never put a healthy cat to sleep and Magic has a happy life ahead of him when we are able to find him a new home. We would very much appreciate any donation you feel you can give to the Harrow Homing Centre for Magic’s care. Every penny helps. 

Any funds raised above and beyond our target will be used to help other cats and kittens in our care at the Harrow Homing Centre.
