We provide support services and work to reduce the number of baby deaths

Story

On the 26th October 2011, our world fell apart.  At only 24 weeks pregnant we were dealt the devastating news our baby, nicknamed Peanut, had passed away.

Harrison Richard arrived silently at 2.19am on 29th October 2011.  He had 10 little toes and 10 little fingers.  An image of tiny perfection.

Devastated, lost and helpless, we were given guidance by the hospital as to our next steps and made contact with the fantastic support network that is Aberdeen SANDS. Little did we know how much SANDS (Stillbirth and Neonatal Death Society) had been with us all the way through our ordeal. They make sure that you have everything you need from information to help with the burial.

To raise money and awareness for this very worthy cause, we will be organising various events in 2014 and all the monies will be collated on this page

Sands has a nationwide group of local support groups run by bereaved parents to support anyone affected by the loss of a baby. Our local group, Aberdeen Sands is part of this network and 100% of your donations will be used to support their work. It is also the most efficient way to donate: Sands will receive your money electronically and, if you are a UK taxpayer, an extra 25% in Gift Aid will be added to your donation at no cost to you.  The Gift Aid is used to support Sands work across the UK
