Those that know me will know that I am very much not a runner however to run this for such an important cause was something I couldn’t say no to.
My godfather Nick was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia at the age of 57.
This is a rare type of dementia which accounts for less than one in thirty dementia cases. Frontotemporal dementia involves damage to the areas of the brain that controls our personality, emotions, behaviour and speech.
Currently there are no medications to treat frontotemporal dementia and stop it progressing. That’s where Alzheimer’s research comes in. They are currently funding research projects to advance our understanding of frontotemporal dementia to help to find a cure.
Thank you so much in advance for donating whatever you can, it really will make a massive difference.
