TREE AID CYCLE RIDE AROUND BRISTOL
On Saturday 20th June I will be attempting to complete an 87 mile circuit of Bristol by bike (knee permitting...!) for a Bristol based charity, TREEAID. The ride is part of Bike Week 2009.
TREEAID's operations are (mainly) in Burkino Faso – one of the poorest nations on earth. They help people find ways to use trees to generate sustainable wealth through tree husbandry and the retail of tree-derived products. And more trees means more 02 and less C02 for everybody. Last year apparently the nutcases who did the ride raised £800 - which was enough to buy 8 bikes for Burkhina Faso - essential for people to get around and take baobab products (see photo) to market.
It would be great to raise even more this year.
I hope you feel you can donate to this worthwhile charity.
Many, many thanks.
