Story
*ONE WEEK TO GO*
Friends, relatives, and colleagues!
On Sunday 3rd April 2022, we will be running the Paris Marathon in aid of UNICEF to help support the families in Ukraine.
WHY?
Over the last few weeks, we have witnessed via social media what can only be described as total devastation. Every time we switch on the television our hearts completely break for the families out in Ukraine. Homes, schools, water supplies and hospitals have been damaged or destroyed. Children have been separated from their families and hundreds of thousands of people have been left without safe water and electricity. Explosives including landmines are a daily threat to children’s lives. More than 1.5 million people have now fled Ukraine, with the number expected to climb to 5 million.
What UNICEF are doing:
They have been working tirelessly to keep children safe since this conflict began eight years ago and we are determined to remain in Ukraine to reach the most vulnerable children and families.
They are helping to provide families with access to clean water and healthy food.
They are delivering lifesaving supplies to support families who have been forced to flee and are working closely with local health facilities to ensure they have the vital supplies needed.
They are helping to make sure that child protection services continue.
They are working with our partners and the UNHCR to assess the refugee situation across neighbouring countries.
The whole trip is self-funded which means that every penny raised will go straight to UNICEF. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Let's stand with Ukraine 🙂
