Story
2023/24 update - Having been meant to have run the marathon in 2020 I’ve finally run out of excuses, some quite extreme, (global pandemic, wedding date next to marathon date, pregnancy) and will be running in April 2024.
I know lots of people very kindly sponsored me a few years ago and I’m very grateful for all the support! If you have a spare pound or two for this time round I would be very appreciative!
Sue Ryder supports people through the most difficult times of their lives. Whether that’s a terminal illness, the loss of a loved one or a neurological condition – they’re there when it matters. Their doctors, nurses and carers give people the compassion and expert care they need to help them live the best life they possibly can.
I'm running for Sue Ryder as my Mum and our family were supported by Leckhampton Hospice following my Mum's diagnosis of bowel cancer. The support and care my Mum received made her comfortable and enabled us to spend quality time as a family, knowing she was being looked after until she passed away in October 2015. I'm running the London marathon to raise money so this invaluable care and support can continue for families.
Any donation is greatly(!) appreciated and will help power me round the 26.2 miles of London’s streets. If you also have a song suggestion that can be added to the running playlist to keep me going (it's going to need to be a long one) then please leave a suggestion on the page.
Thanks!
Harriet
