However, you probably would like an explanation as to why. I am running the Richmond 13.1 for a challenge for myself, but also in memory of Karen Rammell. A great friend of my mum, she was sadly taken by cancer earlier this month. In her last weeks, she was based at the Ashgate Hospice, who's care my mum or anyone else close to Karen could not fault. 

They do not charge patients for the care they receive. Unfortunately though, to maintain their standard of care, the Ashgate Hospice relies on 60% of their income to be charitable donations.

Running for them is an honour, as it is running in memory of Karen. You may have to, or come to know someone who needs care in The Ashgate Hospice, or any other hospice for that matter. If that day comes, you will be thankful for what they provide, yet only if they are still able to because of sufficient funds. 

I know this is nowhere near as you as the full London Marathon, but little steps....

Any amount you donate will help, and I want to say a huge thank you for it and taking the time to read this. The race is on 23rd March, so if you know me and are the area willing to shout it would be great!
