Story
You know that saying, ‘on yer bike’? Well, we’ve taken it really quite literally.
This August we’re embarking on our biggest ever personal challenge to date in a bid to raise as much money as we can for Sussex Partnership’s official charity Heads On – we’re doing Ride London.
We will join 25,000 amateur cyclists on a 100 mile bike ride through London, out onto Surrey’s country roads – including the Surrey Hills - before heading back to the Capital and finishing on the Mall in central London.
We’ve set out to raise £1,000 for Heads On which we hope will be used for projects and equipment that can support people’s physical health as they recover and or manage their own mental ill health.
This particular cause is really close to both our hearts because as keen runners ourselves, we know the impact running and physical good health and wellbeing can have on mental health.
But, we don’t for one minute think it will be easy.
Bradley ‘Wiggo’ Wiggins we are not. We are Natalie Hennings, Corporate
Governance Manager, and Harry Shelley, Deputy Director of Communications.
One of us (Harry!) couldn’t even ride a bike before signing up having somehow overlooked learning as a child.
So it’ll certainly be an adventure. If you haven’t seen us furiously pedalling up and down the hills of West Sussex in training yet, you’re bound to over the next few weeks.
If you can spare a few pounds in support of our challenge we’d be forever grateful for your donation.
