Story

Guys & Girl.....!!

Thank you for taking the time to read my charity sponsorship page, I've always set myself goals to achieve and this Year knowing I was going to be a Daddy I decided to run the Virgin Marathon again....The last time I ran the marathon was in 2005 on the 25th anniversary of flora and managed to complete it in 4.20mins.....Not bad for some who used to spend most of his spare time training his biceps in the pub with a steady flow of pints!

As most of you may already know my beautiful wife gave me a 10lbs baby boy on the 25th of FEB....after going through a painful 50 hours labor and eventually having a c-section. In light of my happiness I signed up for the marathon again knowing full well that my training would suffer when the sleepless night came along with the little one. I'm still very dedicated to my training and finding time to go out and train either late at night or early in the morning, coupling this with running my business is proving to be a challenge in its own right but an enjoyable one.

This year I have decided to raise money for the Shaw Trust. The charity is a national charity which supports disabled and disadvantaged people to prepare for work, find jobs and live more independently.

If anyone of you have recently been out of work or looking for work you will know how hard it is out there, now imagine being disabled or less advantaged than others and finding it even harder.....Everybody needs to work to live and I'm sure we all work hard to pay bills and have an enjoyable lifestyle.....PLEASE TAKE A MINUTE to think what it would be like if you didn’t have a job and nobody was there to help you!

I know a large proportion of my friend are city slickers and have just received end of year bonuses.....Not that I’m begging (OK maybe I am!!) Please dig deep and try and help me hit my target! I have 50 days left till the run and need to raise a whopping £1600.....

If you were planning on coming to visit my son at home and bring him a gift please consider giving to my charity instead…..

You can donate online which I think will be the easiest way for all!!!

Guys in return for your donation I promise to finish the marathon even if I have to drag my lard ass over the finish line....

Thanks for taking the time to read this, please donate now whilst you’re in a giving mood....don’t think ok I will come back to this cause chances are you won’t.

Thank you so much Peeps!!!

Love you all…..

.

What your donation will go towards;

£597 – to pay the costs of our a new walking group we have set up in Leyland for people with sever Mental Illness to climb later in the year.  This would be a huge achievement and confidence builder for all those involved but also gives them a target to keep up the exercise, something that has huge mental health benefits.

£1350 – to pay for 3 months transport for new disabled and disadvantaged people to come to our project in Croydon.  Once we are helping more people we can gain more funding from the local council which will be enough to pay for a new minibus and mean we are permanently able to reach more people who need us.

£2225 – to pay all the staff training and qualifications needed to set up a new Grounds Maintenance Project in Llanelli.  The project already has the offer of it’s first paid contract so this will mean we are able to offer work to disabled and disadvantaged people in a supported environment, giving them the experience to secure jobs that would not have otherwise been available to them.

£3800 – to pay for installing new raised vegetable plots in Trowbridge so local disabled people are able to start growing their own food as well as their confidence.
