Story
Field View Residential Home and Grassmere Residential Home received amazing support throughout the covid epidemic and we are truly gratful for this. This support kept us going and we want to give back to other areas of our community which need our support.
The volume of domestic abuse has risen substantially and we want to support people who suffer from this. Each year, IDAS receive over 14,000 calls to their helpline and provide direct support to over 7000 families. This figure has increased as the risk of harm intensifies since the lockdown.
To raise money for this noble cause; our residents, the home family/friends and staff will be completing a walk from the care home to a local checkpoint and then return. This walk will be 1km for the majority. Most of our residents will not be able to complete this distance but still want to show support and they will be given alternative checkpoints so that they can also be involved
We will be completing this over the course of 2 days so that the residents can take part on days where they are feeling fit! We will complete them on the 15th and 16th of June between 10am and 6pm.
Midland Care Homes (associated with Field View Residential Home and Grassmere Residential Home) has agreed to double any donations up until £500 hence the £1,000 target.
Please donate whatever you can afford to support us and you can be sure that every pound of your donation will go directly to where it is needed, on the front line of vital, life-saving domestic abuse services.Thank you
