Story
Thankyou for taking the time to read my JustGiving page. In October, myself and my brother-in-law Danny are going to cycle 150 miles from Norwich City FC's Carrow Road to Derby County FC's Pride Park to try and raise funds for my little girl Harper to have a life changing spinal operation in America to help her to walk.
Harper was born prematurely via emergency C-section where she was found to have a rare True Knot in her cord which had cut off the circulation to her brain. After a 7 week stay in NICU due to severe hypoglycaemia we later found out that the cord had also caused multiple cystic lesions on her brain and she was diagnosed with Spastic Quadriplegic Cerebral Palsy and would never walk unaided, if at all.
Through medical advice we found SDR (Selective Dorsal Rhizotomy) surgery that is available in St Louis in America. This is an intricate spinal surgery which is followed by a period of intense physiotherapy which could help Harper take her first steps and would change her quality of life greatly. This operation is not currently available to her on the NHS.
Harper is the most remarkable and determined little girl who takes everything in her stride and is constantly proving people wrong, a true little miracle! Any donation, no matter how small, is kindly appreciated, thank you.
