Story

At the time of writing Christmas is just 5 weeks away today!

Things are becoming quite hectic as we plan for three major activities.

1. Christmas Present Appeal.

Your donation will enable us to buy and distribute specific gifts for children in and around the Harpenden area, that either use our current support services or who are referred to us by other agencies.

2. Christmas Hamper distribution

We try at this time of the year to give a Christmas Hamper to those families and households that are struggling to make ends meet. mostly we use donations of food and purchase other items to build the hampers ourselves to ensure a uniform distribution. The Salvation Army and Bethany Community Church work closely together to run King's Pantry... a local foodbank for local people in the centre of Harpenden and many of those who use this service will benefit from one of these hampers.

3. Christmas Day Dinner

Once again we are providing a Christmas Dinner on Christmas Day for those who would otherwise be on their own and anticipate providing up to 70 meals. Your donation will help pay for a meal for those who plan to come.

At Christmas, more than any other time, The Salvation Army across the United Kingdom works tirelessly for people in need. Homeless and hungry people, families facing hardship, victims of domestic abuse and human trafficking, people who are ill or grieving, people who are desperately lonely - we reach out to all of them with unstinting friendship and practical, professional help.

We are extremely grateful for your continuing support and do not take it for granted.

Please don't hesitate to contact us in Harpenden if you require further information.

Thank you
