Story
We are a children’s choir based in North Cumbria who have worked remotely at home to put together and record an arrangement of the song, Love Song To The Earth
as a way of raising funds for NHS Charities Together.
The song's lyrics sends out an important message, asking us all to take ownership and care of the world and to keep us safe. It's lyrics have also been re-written to reflect the current Covid 19 crisis saying:
Let's give thanks to our NHS, doctors, nurses, medics working tirelessly helping patients who are in distress, beat this Covid 19 virus. It would be easy to forget, all the ordinary people doing extraordinariness. Putting
themselves out on the frontline yes! Selfless acts of care and human kindness
The song was originally penned and recorded by a collaboration of artists including Paul McCartney and
Natasha Bedingfield. It was written to inspire people across the world to urge leaders to act on climate change and on
all matters to keep our planet safe!
The project was the idea of the choir’s Director, Gill Wadeson who wanted to:
- help choir members isolating at home, reconnect with one another;
- give them something fun to do through music during lockdown;
- create a positive and lasting memory during such unusual and challenging times;
- the children want to raise whatever funds they can to say thank you to those helping us during this time.
The children were given a rehearsal track to rehearse to at home and then recorded themselves singing and performing to camera. These were then sent off to the producers, NaiK Media and Heavy Rain Sound Studio.
The song will be released on 12th May, 2020
