Story

I'm a cold-water swimmer, and a Salvation Army officer based in Harlow, in Essex. I swim in Redricks Lake usually, for fitness and for my mental health, as a member of Team Pants.

After 3 weeks in lockdown, I started swimming in the paddling pool in the garden, while attached to the washing line by a tether. So I'm effectively swimming, but not going anywhere. My fitbit has been logging the distances, so I've increased my target from the original 10k to 33796 which is the distance of a Channel swim.

This will be in all-weather, and temperatures. Today's was 11degrees in the water.

I am swimming to support the work of The Salvation Army in our community of Harlow; particularly those affected by Covid19. The work continues, and people are turning to us more and more for food-bank, and other practical support.

Your kind donation would give me the motivation to 'Just Keep Swimming' from 10k to 33.796k.
