Story
Thanks for taking the time to visit my JustGiving page.
In late 2005 my mother was diagnosed with terminal Cancer and by 2007 it had taken her life. Throughout her time spent living with cancer she was supported by Marie Curie Cancer Care. Marie Curie is a UK charity dedicated to the care of people with terminal cancer and other illnesses. They need to raise £10,000 every hour of every day to carry on their work. The support they receive means that more than 31,000 people last year were given the choice of where and how to spend their final days.
I’ve decided to do an Ironman Triathlon in Nice on June 24to raise money to help enable Marie Curie to continue their fantastic work. For those of you who are not familiar with an Ironman, it consists of a consecutive 2.4mile swim, 112mile bike ride and 26.2mile run. To make this challenge harder still, the bike ride climbs over 5,000 vertical feet, temperatures in Nice will be averaging 25-30 degrees and it all has to be completed in less than 16.5 hours.
Any donations will be very appreciated!
