GUT - Get Up There · 1 April 2022 ·

The 14th Annual GUT is a Community Event to support the Dartmouth General Hospital Foundation. Join or create a team to raise funds and hike Citadel Hill in Halifax, NS. Together we can support the awareness for fight against colorectal cancer.

Story

Colorectal cancer is the second leading cause of cancer death among Nova Scotians, and 90% curable if detected early. Together we’re making an impact on this insidious disease by raising funds to purchase the GI Genius - using AI to better detect cancer.

This is a cause that is important to me as my mother survived colon cancer thanks to early screening and detection. I do my mail-in FIT test each year and we need to take action to reduce wait times for colonoscopies.

Please consider supporting GUT 2022 by making a secure online donation to help me reach my personal fundraising goal.

This year, funds raised will support the Dartmouth General Hospital to purchase innovative equipment and technology to aid in early detection such as the GI Genius. This is technology uses artificial intelligence to detect polyps during a colonoscopy. Funds raised through GUT will support advancing colorectal screening capacity and effectiveness
