Story
My name is Annie and I am six years old. Many of us are missing our friends and family during these difficult times. I too am missing playing with my friends and seeing my family. Whilst we are staying safe during the pandemic, NHS staff at Derby and Burton Hospital are fighting the virus and putting themselves at risk on the frontline. They are the real life superheroes and I admire their courage and bravery. As a way of showing how thankful I am to the Derby & Burton Hospital staff I have decided to do some fundraising. The money will help support the different wards, clinics, injuries unit and accidental and emergency centre with whatever they need. Whether that is thermometers, new pillows for patients, tea and biscuits for the staff when they manage to get a break or support for staff who cannot get home. From Sunday 24th May I am going to walk/scoot/cycle/run 75 miles in 30 days dressed up in costume on some days. This is roughly the distance from Derby to Manchester. I can't go to Manchester right now but I can help to spread some positivity. Hopefully I can inspire some of my friends, family and other children to exercise, enjoy nature and take on new challenges to raise money for charity too. Any donations you are able to give to help will make a huge difference to the NHS staff.
Many thanks,
Annie X
