Story
It's my P.A's 44th birthday on 13th October!!
As this year is extraordinary and celebrations will be even more restricted than usual, I have decided to hold a birthday fundraiser for two weeks before her big day! (I LOVE birthdays!)
Having M.E means that my P.A, Sally, has a very limited social life, add to that an intolerance to alcohol and it won't be a stereotypical birthday celebration! At the moment, just one G & T or glass of wine would make her feel very sick and the hangover would start instantly.
She is also choosing to shield at home as she now has Long Covid too and doesn't want to be the human guinea pig to see how bad Covid19 would be a second time around!
In the spirit of making this a virtual event, I'd like you all to buy her a birthday drink! Help to make this birthday special despite extraordinary circumstances.
If, in the real world, you would usually buy a birthday drink for family, friends, colleagues, or acquaintances I would like you to do the same for her, please!
'Gin and tonic, thanks!'
Help to make Sally virtually 'tipsy' and donate the cost of a G & T (any amount would be gratefully received!) to this fundraising pot. Thank you!
On a serious note, we are now seeing 'Post-Covid M.E/C.F.S' diagnoses, this makes the need for research even more urgent.
Donations of any amount are welcome.
To give you an idea of where your money will go and how much research costs, Cure ME has given us this info.
Your gift could cover -
- Freezer storage of one set of blood samples for five years (£5),
- Tubes for one blood draw (£10),
- A set of laboratory blood tests (£50),
- One visit by the Research Nurse to a severely-affected participant (£150),
Or if we massively exceed expectations
- medical equipment for clinical measurements (£2,500)
