Story
On April 23rd 2017 I will be taking on the London Marathon. (Eeeek!)
The months of training leading up to the 26 miles of pain will be in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support, who aim to reach and improve the lives of everyone living with cancer, and whose services have been accessed more than nine million times.
Nearly everyone knows of someone or has a relative who has battled with cancer, and lots of people have gone through it themselves. In fact, more than 2.5 million people are living with cancer in the UK.
Macmillan offers the care, information and support needed by those with cancer, and helps them through that stressful and worrying time by giving guidance about treatment options, helping them take back some control of their lives, and being there so they know they are not alone.
I have pledged to raise £2000 for the charity, knowing that it will make a difference to those in need and help to make their lives more comfortable. Any donations made towards this will be gratefully received!
In preparation for the marathon in April, I have been training hard, including tackling the Richmond Half Marathon on 19th February, and running in -11 degree temperatures in Canada. Please help me towards my goal by donating generously - there's not long to go!
Thank you for your support (:
